My 4 month old loves it. He gets all excited when he hears the monkey sounds and grabs it hugging it. He won't leave it alone he likes it so much!!! There are three sound options... play (monkey sounds), relax (waterfall), sleep (lullaby). Plus you can record your own voice up to 10 seconds. The monkey has velcro hands to wrap around a crib or stroller if you choose. It does shed a little bit, but I've only noticed a few loose fluffs, not really bad. I would definitely keep an eye on baby when playing with it due to the little sheddng I have seen. The minimal shedding would be no problem for older kids, however. The sound box is rather large (about the height/width of an android smartphone, but thicker) and sticks out in the back. The monkey sheds so badly leaving its fluffs on the sheets and on everything else it touches, even after two washes, that they are not able to use it as intended at all. It looked to be a very cute and useful product.... It turned out to be used mainly for the pink noise feature. This feature is great, but the design of the product has some drawbacks for baby sleeping. One, if you want to turn off the noise it makes a beeping noise--not helpful for keeping baby asleep! Two, it only plays for 30 minutes, yes I understand that this brings baby to the deepest sleep and then it is on batteries, but there should be an hour and a 3 hour setting for naps. My baby wakes up at his 40 minute sleep cycle and white noise will put him back to sleep, but to go upstairs and push the button (and hope to not push the monkey noises or lullaby button in the dark) isn't going to work. This is helpful for settling baby into different sleeping situations, but would be better with longer noise and a non-beeping on and off button. :) |
